The Best is Yet to Come

Here is a photo of my Godson, Andersen having a good time in the Nitto Tire Mazda RX-8! It's easy to put him in the driver seat but so hard to get him out of the car. He loves being inside the drift car and won't let go of the steering wheel. I can totally see him driving in the future! :)

I had a good discussion with my team manager Ron Bergenholtz and the entire Bergenholtz Racing Crew about the 2011 FD season to see what we can do to come out strong for the 2012 season. With everyone's notes and inputs I'm sure the Best is Yet to Come!! We came out with a great plan of attack and I'm looking forward to achieving our goals each round at a time!

With all of our fans and partners support & teams hard work we'll be able to come out blazing for the next season in Formula Drift! I have high hopes and faith in the team that it'll be a phenomenal 2012 Formula Drift season!!

Never Ending Passion

Here's a photo of Ed and Ron at Bergenholtz Racing flamed with passion for the sport of drifting/motorsports. We had an opportunity to drift in front of NASCAR fans out at Irwindale Speedway. It was great meeting new fans and hearing positive comments.

I could never say this enough... "It's truly an honor to drive for Bergenholtz Racing in the Nitto Tire Mazda RX-8! I'm so grateful for everyone's effort/dedication in making it possible to to get out there and give the fans a big show!" I respect BR on and off the track! They always live life to the fullest and inspires me to drive harder!!

Have a wonderful week guys!! Thanks for all of your support and the follow!!

Cheers!

Final Round of Formula D 2011

It was great to see the team working for perfection by providing not just an amazing Nitto Tire Mazda RX-8 but going further by providing instant footages after each practice run. As you can see on top of the Genius Tool box sits a Samsung flat screen television where I can park next to and take a look from a birds view. Kurt Gasper and Ed Bergenholtz got a bunch of good footages. I'm so thankful and honored to be driving for BR! Every event the team never fails to amaze me with new ideas and innovations!

During practice I was testing out the new taller gear ratio. With the extended Irwindale track layout we knew taller gears would be necessary. The Nitto Tire Mazda RX-8 felt completely different compared to last year Irwindale. My goal was to adapt to the updated gearing/power ratio as soon as possible.

Here we are lined up ready to go. Our first qualifying run was decent but the score was not. The judges gave us a 59 point run. I was surprised on how low the points were and knew we had to step it up for the next run...

So that's what I exactly did, I made a better 2nd qualifying run but still got a low score of 59... I was in shock and thought maybe there was an error on our points. So our spotter Ed Bergenholtz made sure it was correct and it was official that there were no errors. We were 2 points shy from qualifying. It was hard to swallow but we kept our heads up and spirits high.

On the brighter side we got to spend more quality time with all of our fans and take a bunch of pictures. Although this was not the way I wanted to end our season (result wise), I have no doubt in my mind that we'll come out stronger than ever in 2012! We're planning to train hard during the off season to make next season of Formula Drift a remarkable one!

I would like to thank Team Bergenholtz for all of their hard work, passion, patience, always going above and beyond for one another! I'm so grateful to have a team that is so dedicated and always believing in one another to achieve the grand prize.

Thank you fans and all of our sponsors for always rooting us on!! Nitto Tire, Mazda, Lucas Oil, Genius Tools, LS Auto, Enkei, Mazda Speed, Mazda Trix, Apexi, KW Suspension, K1 Speed, WPC, Steen Chassis, Tial, Seibon, Sparco, MoTec, CSF, Driveshaft Shop, RC and all of our supporters made it possible to run a great program and looking forward to 2012 being our year!

Cheers,

5 Days Till FD Finale

Here is Ed Bergenholtz figuring out some numbers for the gearing and making sure the tune is right on target! Since the new track layout has been extended in the infield of Irwindale Speedway, the team is taking extra measures to provide the perfect gear ratio. Necessary adjustments were noted and looks like we'll have the perfect formula to ace this new configuration! It's amazing how much knowledge Ed has with the MoTec M800/computers!

In running a great race program it takes a lot of organizing and preparing all sorts of different duties... Here's Ron and the team maintaining the trailer.

Ron aims for perfection when working on anything he touches. Even when applying vinyl on the Nitto Tire Mazda RX-8 he brings out his precision measuring caliper. I had a blast driving the vehicle for a quick and short practice session. We ending up getting a lot of useful data and will have the vehicle ready for battle in the Finale! We'll see you at Irwindale on Oct 7-8th!! Make sure to get your tickets at http://www.formuladrift.com/

Joy in The Driver Seat

There is never a dull moment seating in the driver seat of the Nitto Tire Mazda RX-8. I enjoy every process from being in the garage with the team to driving this beast on the track! With only a little over a week away from the Formula Drift Finale, Ron and the entire team is pretty much ready to go! The team being a perfectionist, they double check and make sure the work on the vehicle is right on target! I'm super excited to drive at the House of Drift Irwindale Speedway!

Restoring the Body

Here's the Nitto Tire Mazda RX-8 stripped and most of the body panels dropped off at Sam's Auto Land to get fresh paint and body work done. Once the car is all back together it's going to look great! Sam's Auto Land never fails to surprise us with their quality work!

Ron Bergenholtz is super organized and always completes his long to-do list on hand. Thank you team Bergenholtz Racing for your hard work and making sure the vehicle is ready to perform at its best for the Finale!!! I'm so grateful to have such a passionate team!
